Roselyn A. Dwyer

LYNDHURST-Roselyn A. Dwyer (nee McWatters) of Lyndhurst passed away Saturday, Feb. 23. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Dwyer was born in Harrison and lived in Lyndhurst for over 60 years.

She worked at the Meadowlands Racetrack for 11 years before retiring. Earlier, she worked as a teller for the National Community Bank in North Arlington for many years.

Mrs. Dwyer is predeceased by husband James J. She is survived by children Patricia Brody, James Dwyer and his wife Linda, Barry Dwyer and his wife Sharon and Kevin Dwyer and his wife Karen. She is also survived by grandchildren Sharon Daniel, Steven Brody, Eric, Colleen, Renee, Lauren, Jennifer and Caitlin Dwyer, Casey and Lee Kenworthy and great-grandchildren Matthew, Erika, Ryan, Colin, Jenna, Erin, Tara and Siabella.

On Feb. 27, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Parow Funeral Home and then to the funeral mass from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, both in North Arlington. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum.

The family would appreciate donations made to the Bayonne Visiting Nurses, Hospice Program, 325 Broadway, Bayonne, NJ 07002 in her memory.

Louis DiGennaro

NORTH ARLINGTON-Louis "Gino" DiGennaro passed away Thursday, Feb. 21. He was 73 years old. Mr. DiGennaro was born in Jersey City and lived in Italy before moving back to Jersey City and to North Arlington 15 years ago.

He worked for Mannie’s Cigarette Service in both Jersey City and Union before retiring.

Mr. DiGennaro is survived by wife Gertrude (nee Onorato), daughter AnnaMarie Crossett and granddaughter Alexandra Crossett. He is also survived by sister Antoinette Rutigliano and brothers Vito, Enzo and Dominic DiGennaro.

On Feb. 25, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Parow Funeral Home and then the funeral mass from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, both in North Arlington. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, also in North Arlington.

The family would appreciate donations made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer St., Hackensack, NJ 07601 in his memory.

Rosa C. Edwards

RUTHERFORD-Rosa C. Edwards (nee Clark) of Rutherford passed away Feb. 20. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Edwards was born in North Little Rock, Ark.

She was a switch board operator for S&B Penick  for many years.

Mrs. Edwards is predeceased by husband Robert C. She is survived by children Robert, John, Martha McGlynn and Judith Edwards and sisters Martha Morgan, Elizabeth Matthews and Cathy Thomey. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

On Feb. 25, relatives and friends attended the funeral service from Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home in Rutherford. The service was followed by interment in Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.

Jean Wegrzynowicz 

RUTHERFORD-Jean (aka Regina) Wegrzynowicz of Rutherford passed away Feb. 23. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Wegrzynowicz was born in Shamokin, Pa. and lived in Rutherford for the past 50 years.

She was a member of the Women's club of New Jersey and an active member at the Red Cross, helping solicit blood donations from companies across northern New Jersey.

Mrs. Wegrzynowicz is predeceased by husband Joseph. She is survived by children Joseph and Carol. She is also survived by grandchildren Stuart and Michelle and great-grandson Tate.

On Feb. 27, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home and then the funeral mass from St. Marys RC Church, both in Rutherford.

Jean J. Kreutzer

RUTHERFORD-Jean J. Kreutzer (nee Taraskewicz) of Rutherford passed away Saturday, Feb. 23. She was 83 years old. Mrs. Kreutzer was born in Dunmore, PA and lived in West New York before moving to Rutherford.

She was a baser employed by Dura Test Corp. for 28 years upon her retirement in 1987. She was a member of the Rutherford Golden Age Club and St. Mary’s R.C. Church.

Mrs. Kreutzer is predeceased by husband Edward and grandson John J. Kerkowski, III. She is survived by daughters Dorothy Kerkowski and her husband John Jr. and Karen Paustian and her husband Jack and sister Irene Phelps of Shrewsbury, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Robyn Fritsch and her husband Steve, Timothy Paustian, Jeanmarie Anicito and her husband David, Kimberly Kerkowski, Aimee Keich and her husband David and Carmita Kerkowski, as well as eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

On Feb. 28, relatives and friends attended the funeral mass from St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Rutherford. The service was followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst. Arrangements were made by the Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford.

Gregory A. Burch

RUTHERFORD-Gregory A. Burch of Rutherford passed away Sunday, Feb. 24. He was 37 years old. Mr. Burch was born in Jersey City.

He worked for Roadway Express in Moonachie.

Mr. Burch is predeceased by mother Carol Burch. He is survived by father Ronald, brother Peter and sister Susan Collin. He is also survived by niece Reese Morgan Collin.

On Feb. 28, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Macagna Diffily Onorato and then to the funeral mass from St. Marys RC Church, both in Rutherford. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

 Mary F. Brennan

Mary F. Brennan (nee Patten) of Spring Lake Heights passed away Monday, Feb. 25. She was 98 years old. Mrs. Brennan was born in Jersey City and lived in North Arlington for 28 years before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1999.

Mrs. Brennan is predeceased by husband Vincent J. Brennan Sr., daughter Joan M. Meyers and sister Beatrice Mead. She is survived by children Vincent J. Brennan Jr. and his wife Teresa, Robert Brennan, Marilyn Healey and her husband Robert and Thomas Brennan and grandchildren Noreen, Kathleen, Tara, Mark, Mary Fran, Maureen, Gerald, Lynn Ann, Joseph and Maryanne. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren, sisters Irene Moran, Betty Brown and brother Eugene Patten.

On Feb. 29, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Parow Funeral Home and then the funeral mass from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, both in North Arlington. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, also in North Arlington.

Daniel F. Ficacci

LYNDHURST-Daniel F. Ficacci of Lyndhurst passed away Monday, Feb. 25. He was 85 years old. Mr. Ficacci was born in Newark and has been a resident of Lyndhurst since 1946.

He was a WWII Veteran of the US Coast Guard serving 1942-43. He was a draftsman for Standard Tool & Die Company, Lyndhurst for over 10 years and then as Project Engineer for Mathesan Gas Products, East Rutherford for 15 years, retiring in 1989. In addition, he was a member of The American Legion Post #139 of Lyndhurst.

Mr. Ficacci is survived by wife Concetta (nee Di Flumeri) Ficacci, children Judy Schiavone and her husband, Frank of Lyndhurst, Daniel Ficacci of Lyndhurst and Donna Giunta and her husband, Richard of Holland Township and grandchildren Judy Lynn and Frank Schiavone Jr. and Daniel and Richard Giunta Jr. He is also survived by siblings Joan, Anthony, Joseph, and Louis Ficacci and by two great-grandchildren.

On Feb. 29, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. and then the funeral mass from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, both Lyndhurst. The services were followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, also in Lyndhurst.

Edward P. Brophy

NORTH ARLINGTON-Edward P. Brophy of North Arlington passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27. He was 98 years old. Mr. Brophy was born in Scotland and lived in Ireland and Lyndhurst before moving to North Arlington in 1960.

He graduated from Dickinson High School and attended Newark College of Engineering. He worked with MW Kellogg Company in New York City for 43 years, retiring in 1974 as the supervisor of material control. He was a parishioner of Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington where he served as usher, counter and member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council #3428 and also a member of their Sunday Night Bowling. In addition, he was a member of the North Arlington Senior Citizen Harmony Club in North Arlington.

Mr. Brophy is predeceased by wife Anastasia (nee Molloy) and siblings Molly Marino, Mabel McKay, Sr. Madeline, Michael, Gerard and Luke Brophy. He is survived by daughter Mary Margaret Mauro and her husband Peter and grandchildren Peter Mauro and his wife Anna and Edward Mauro and his fiancee Cynthia Purcell. He is also survived by siblings Martha Foley, Joseph, James, Patrick and Demot Brophy, all of Ireland.

On March 1, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Parow Funeral Home and then the funeral mass from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, both in North Arlington. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, also in North Arlington.

Jack R. Russell Jr.

Jack Richard Russell Jr. of Ocala, FL passed away on Feb. 15. He was 44 years old. Mr. Russell was born in Newark and was a resident of East Rutherford before moving to Florida in 1988.

He was a Becton Regional High School graduate. He operated his own business, Jack’s Lawn Services, in Ocala. He was also an accomplished chef and had extensive training in Florida.

Mr. Russell is survived by father Jack R. Russell Sr. of East Rutherford, sister Amber T. Rodgers of Durham, NC, brother Michael Malta of Hamilton Square and fiancee Suzan Nally of Ocala, FL and her children, Curtiss and Colton. He is also survived by uncles Robert H. Russell and his wife Patricia of GA, Dennis S. Russell and his wife Linda of Blairstown, Richard Russell and his wife Holly of Forked River, George T. Schumann and his wife Barbara of Carlstadt, Raymond C. Schumann and his wife Diane of Whiting, Robert A. and his wife Linda of Hamilton and Garry R. Schumann of Carlstadt, aunts Lucille Plank and her husband David of CA and Margaret Schumann and her husband William of Stockholm and cousins Robert, Michelle, Dennis, Chris, Courtney, Randy, Suzette, Heather, R.J., James, Wayne, Nancy, Audrey, Kenneth, Heidi, Warren, Glenn, Cheryl, Alison, Eric, David, Heather, Scott and Kim.

On Feb. 27, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt. Cremation was private.

Edith M. Vigneri

Edith M. Vigneri (nee Italia  Gugliuzzo) passed away Feb. 28.

She worked at Junior High School #52, Academy St, Inwood for 27 years before retiring.

Mrs. Vigneri is predeceased by husband Joseph (1971). She is survived by children Marianne Moscatell and Richard Dennis Vigneri and son-in-law Ronald. She is also survived by nephew Paul Gugliuzzo, godson Michael DuVernoy and grandson Enzo. In addition, Mrs. Vigneri was the longtime cumara of Muriel and the late Charles DuVernoy.

At her request, funeral services were held privately. Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home in Rutherford handled the arrangements.
