Dorraine Sokolowski

Dorraine Sokolowski (nee Friend) passed away Saturday, Jan. 26. She was 77 years old. Mrs. Sokolowski was born and raised in Chicago, Il., lived in Arizona for seven years, Bayonne for 30 years and Mystic Island for 15 years.

She was a homemaker. She was a gifted artist and an avid league bowler, both in Bayonne and Mystic Island.

Mrs. Sokolowski is predeceased by husband Walter Sokolowski. She is survived by children, Wanda Kalgren of MT., Lori Walters of TN, Vivian Bielicki of Toms River and Walter Sokolowski of Rutherford, grandchildren, Jen Peters, Walter A. Bielicki and Emily Ehrlich. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Amber, Kaylee, Danielle and Lou Ann and sister, Karen Coombs of Arizona.

On Jan. 30, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. in Lyndhurst and then the funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church in Rutherford. The services were followed by a private burial.

Anthony M. Ferrara

RUTHERFORD-Anthony M. Ferrara, of Rutherford, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26. He was 19 years old. Mr. Ferrara was born in Florida.

He was an undergraduate at Lincoln Tech in Mahwah. He graduated from Rutherford High School in 2007.

Mr. Ferrara is predeceased by father Frank Ferrara. He is survived by mother Jacqueline A. Ferrara (nee Winrow), sisters Alicia Ferrara and Melanie De Mio, brother Joseph Charles Theobald, maternal grandparents Charles M. and Rosemarie C. Winrow and paternal grandparents Charlotte and Salvatore Ferarra. He is also survived by aunts Lynn Stanton and her husband Timothy, Laura Raith and her husband Vincent and Tracy Heider Winrow, uncle Charles Ferrara, great aunts Laura Koch and Joanne Kelly and cousins Timothy, Julia, Emily, Julia Heider and others.

On Jan. 31, relatives and friends attended the funeral mass from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Lyndhurst. The service was followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford.

Marie A. Kunz

Marie A. Kunz, of Summerfield, N.C., passed away Monday, Jan. 28. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Kunz was a former resident of East Rutherford for 30 years.

She was a secretary for the East Rutherford school system before retiring in 1983. She was a past president of the ERFD Ladies Auxiliary and a charter member of the Bergen County Fire Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Mrs. Kunz is predeceased by husband Andrew Kunz. She is survived by brother Robert Slane of Bergenfield, daughter Nancy Bowers of Summerfied, N.C. and son Ed Kunz of Pawley’s Island, S.C. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

On Feb. 2, relatives and friends attended the funeral mass service from Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home. The service was followed by interment in George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
