Guilda G. Collat

NORTH ARLINGTON-Guilda G. Collat (nee Gonzalez) of North Arlington, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Collat was born in Chile and lived in Jersey City before moving to North Arlington over 20 years ago.

She was a secretary at Christ Hospital in Jersey City for 10 years before retiring 20 years ago.

Mrs. Collat is predeceased by husband Carlos Collat. She is survived by son Carlos Collat and daughters Jackie Leanzo and her husband, Joseph and Jeanette Collat.

On Jan. 9, relatives and friends attended the funeral from the Parow Funeral Home and then to the funeral mass from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, both in North Arlington. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.

Clarice N. Freire

LYNDHURST-Clarice N. Freire, of Lyndhurst, passed away on Jan. 3. She was 97 years old. Mrs. Freire was born in Murtosa, Portugal.

She was a seamstress for many years.  She was a member of Luso-American Fraternal Association and the Ladies Garment Workers Union. (U.N.I.T.E.)

Mrs. Freire is predeceased by husband Albert V. and sisters Esperanca, Joana and Maria. She is survived by daughter Victoria Ferrera, sisters Auzenda Carrada and Aida Neno and granddaughter Dana and her husband, David Filippelli. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Andrew and Amanda.

On Jan. 8, relatives and friends attended the funeral from the Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home and then to the funeral mass at St. Marys RC Church, both in Rutherford. The services were followd by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.

Dominick F. Annuzzi

Dominick F. Annuzzi, of Nutley, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6. He was 83 years old. Mr. Annuzzi was born and raised in Lyndhurst and has been a resident of Nutley for the past 40 years.

He was self-employed landscaper for many years.

Mr. Annuzzi is predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Maria (nee Torre) Annuzzi and two siblings, Anita Morella and Angelo Annuzzi. Dominick is survived by siblings, Stella and Joseph Annuzzi, both of Lyndhurst and Albert Annuzzi of Lady Lakes, Fla. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. and then to the funeral mass from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, both in Lyndhurst. A private cremation was held.

Joao M. Ataide

NORTH ARLINGTON-Joao M. Ataide, of North Arlington, passed away on Monday, Jan.7. He was 67 years old. Mr. Ataide was born in Portugal and lived in Newark before moving to North Arlington 25 years ago.

He worked as a longshoreman at Myer Terminal in Port Elizabeth for 37 years before retiring in 2005.

Mr. Ataide is predeceased by brother Nelson Ataide. He is survived by brothers Manuel, Orlando, Jack and Sergio Ataide. He is also survived by sisters Fernanda Queiros, Julia Batista and Maria Lourdes Rocha.

On Jan. 9, relatives and friends attended the funeral from the Parow Funeral Home and then the funeral mass from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, both in North Arlington. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Catherine A Colsh

RUTHERFORD-Catherine A. Colsh (nee Cannestra), of Rutherford, passed away on Jan. 8. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Colsh was born in Brooklyn.

She was a retired bookkeeper for Chase Manhatten Bank, N.Y. She was a member of the Rutherford Kip Center, St. Marys Rosary Society  and  AARP.

Mrs. Colsh is predeceased by husband Robert W. Colsh, son, Robert W. Colsh Jr. and many brothers and sisters. She s survived by daughter Elaine Baumann and grandchildren, Denise Baumann, Sandra Colsh and Jeffrey Colsh.

On Jan. 12, relatives and friends attended the funeral from the Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home and then to the funeral mass from St. Marys RC Church, both in Rutherford. The services were followed by internment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Bernard F. Schoneman

EAST RUTHERFORD-Bernard F. Schoneman, of East Rutherford, passed away  on Jan. 9. He was 86 years old. Mr. Schoneman was born in Carlstadt.

He worked as a truck driver for the New York Times newspaper before retiring in 1985. He was also a WWII US Marine veteran.

Mr. Schoneman is predeceased by wife Nancy (nee Minutolo). He is survived by daughters Janet Fogel and Marlene Gibbons and grandchildren Paul Kriebs and Diane Gibbons.He is also survived by two sisters.

On Jan. 12, relatives and friends attended the funeral service from Macagna-Diffily-Onorato Funeral Home 41 in Rutherford. The service was followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. 

Rita Clara Steinman

Rita Clara Steinman (nee Keifer), of Wallington, passed away on Jan. 7. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Steinman was formerly of Carlstadt and had lived in Wallington for 20 years.

She worked in the Cleaning Services Department for the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford for 10 years, retiring in 1983.

Mrs. Steinman is predeceased by husband William S. Steinman, son Michael Pansini and one brother. She is survived by daughters Anne Rafferty of East Rutherford and Frances Pansini of Oregon. She is also survived by grandchildren Michael W. Rafferty of Carlstadt and Christina Pansini and great-grandon Sean T. Rafferty.

On Jan. 11, relatives and friends attended the funeral service from Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt. The service was followed by interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, South Hackensack.

Nancy A. Rodriguez

Nancy A. Rodriguez (nee Sanzari) of Union City, passed away on Jan. 6. She was 51 years old. Mrs. Rodriguez was formerly of Carlstadt.

She was a telemarketer for The Record in Hackensack for 5 years and retired in 2006.

Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by husband Rodolfo R. Rodriguez, son Nicholas I. Gory and daughter Beatrice Sanzari (nee Del Vecchio), all of Union City. She is also survived by brothers John Sanzari of Florida and Anthony Sanzari of Hasbrouck Heights.

On Jan. 10, relatives and friends attended the funeral service from Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt. The cremation was private.

Jeanne A. Drogo

EAST RUTHERFORD-Jeanne A. Drogo (nee Rossignot), of East Rutherford, passed away on Jan. 10. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Drogo was born in New York City and lived in East Rutherford for 53 years.

She was a homemaker. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in East Rutherford and a member of the Rosary Altar Society for over 50 years.

Mrs. Drogo is predeceased by husband William J. Drogo and sister Catherine Miraglia. She is survived by children William J. Drogo, Jr. and his wife Christine, of Gilbert, Ariz., Janet Drogo of East Rutherford, Ronald J. Drogo of Wood-Ridge and Linda Tabachuk and her husband, Richard of Rutherford.

On Jan. 14, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt and then to the funeral mass from St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in East Rutherford. The services were followed by interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, South Hackensack.

Margaret C. Seilus

RUTHERFORD-Margaret C. Seilus (nee Koerner), of Rutherford, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Seilus was born in Elizabeth.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Seilus is predeceased by husband Francis. She is survived by daughter Katherine Chadwick and her husband, Daniel and son Richard and his wife, Suzanne. She is also survived by grandchildren Debra Holman and her husband, Robert, Matthew Seilus and his wife, Lesley, David Seilus, Andrew Seilus and Katie Seilus and one great-granddaughter Madison Holman.

On Jan. 12, relatives and friends attended the funeral mass from St. John’s Lutheran Church, also in Rutherford. The service was followed by interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside.

Donations may be made to St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Activities Fund, Attn: Marie Corbo, 315 E. Lindsley Rd., Cedar Grove, 07007.

Arrangements were made by Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford.

Joseph J. O’Neill

 

RUTHERFORD-Joseph J. O’Neill, of Rutherford, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10. He was 82 years old. Mr. O’Neill was born in Jersey City.

He was a warehouseman for Finast Foods, Inc. in Kearny and retired in 1977. He was an Army veteran and served in Korea from 1952-1956.

Mr. O’Neill is predeceased by son Joseph O’Neill, Jr. and eight siblings. He is survived by wife Claire (nee McPherson), daughters Patricia McGarry and her husband, Michael and Meggan O’Neill and sister Peggy Jelenewicz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

On Jan. 20, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford. On. Jan. 21, a funeral mass was held from St. Mary’s R.C. Church, also in Rutherford. Cremation was private.
