Helen Rago
Helen Rago (nee Puntolillo) passed away on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Rago was born in New York, NY, lived 80 years in Lyndhurst, and has been a resident of Howell the past 7 years.
She worked as a seamstress for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union of America, Passaic for many years, retiring at the age of 62.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Rago. Helen is survived by her three children, Linda Oatis of Howell, James Rago of Ky., and Helen Gordon of Ocean; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings: Louis Puntolillo of Toms River, Yolanda Figliolina of Lyndhurst, and Gloria Trignano of Fla.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral on Nov. 13 from the Nazare Memorial Home, then to the funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, both in Lyndhurst. The service was followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
Rocco Botticelli
LYNDHURST--Rocco Botticelli passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007. He was 97 years old. Mr. Botticelli was born in Lyndhurst and was a lifelong resident.
He was a master plumber working for Local #14 Plumbers Union, Lodi for 50 years, retiring in 1980. He was a United States Navy veteran and served in World War II from 1943 to 1945. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria General Assembly, a member of the VFW, the Friendship Club, the AARP and the Holy Name Society and an usher for Sacred Heart Church.
Mr. Botticelli was predeceased by his wife, Natalie Botticelli (nee Cicchitto). He is survived by daughters Natalie Ann Gagnon and Arlene Cunningham, both of Hendersonville, Tenn. and four grandchildren, George and Brenda Kaloyerakis, Theodore Seyfried and Suzanne Holt. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Sean, Hunter, Natalie, Madilyn, Austin Jacob and Rocco.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral on Monday, Nov. 12 from the Nazare Memorial Home, then to the funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, both in Lyndhurst. The Mass was followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
Ann Bowen
Ann Bowen (nee Wolf), of Nutley, passed away on Friday, Nov. 9. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Bowen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and lived in Rutherford before moving to Nutley.
She was a cafeteria worker for Rutherford High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Mrs. Bowen was predeceased by her husband, Frank Bowen, Sr. and her brothers Michael, Frank, John and Leon Wolf. She is survived by her son Frank Bowen, Jr. and his wife Valerie and her daughter Maryann and her husband Joseph Rostel. She is also survived by her grandchildren Debbie Bode, Karen DeBeus, Lori St. John, Kelly McFeelly and Kim Rostel and 10 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends were received at the Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home and attended a funeral Mass at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, both in Rutherford. The services were followed by interment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.
Robert C. Haines
LYNDHURST--Robert C. Haines, of Lyndhurst, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Hackensack Hospice Care. He was 70 years old. He lived in Newark and moved to Lyndhurst 15 years ago.
Mr. Haines was a warehouse manager for Reitment Industries for 45 years, retiring in 2002. He was also a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores (nee Casey), son Robert Haines, Jr. and daughters Denise Barrios and Jennifer Magnus. He is also survived by two sisters Doris Wohelking and Rosemary Montelbano, brother Norman Haines and two grandsons, Jacob and Noah Magnus.
Relatives and friends were received at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home and attended a funeral Mass at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, both in Lyndhurst. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetary in North Arlington.
Lucy C. Koch
EAST RUTHERFORD--Lucy C. Koch (nee Docimo), of East Rutherford, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12. She was 75 years old.
Mrs. Koch worked for Office Max of Carlstadt, NJ for many years. She and her husband did active charity work for the Fort Lee Rotary Gift of Life foundation, and both were recognized and honored as persons of the year 2003-2004.
She was predeceased by her sister Emma Stuiso. She is survived by her husband, John Koch; son, Stephen Murray and daughters Geraldine and Debra. She is also survived by her brother, Albert.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral at the Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home and then to the funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, both in Rutherford.

Daniel J. Astrella
Daniel J. Astrella, of Pemberton, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12. He was 68 years old. Mr. Astrella was born in New York, NY, raised in and resided in Hasbrouck Heights most of his life, and has been a resident of Pemberton for the past 13 years.
He was the owner of Raiders Express, Inc. in North Bergen for 20 years.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (nee Stathopoulo) Astrella; his three children, Valeri Astrella, Laura Haemmerle and her husband Joseph and Michael Astrella and his four grandchildren Matthew, Grace and Jack Haemmerle and Michael Astrella. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Tannella.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral on Nov. 16 from the Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst, then to the funeral Mass at Corpus Christi Church in Hasbrouck Heights. The services were followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Joseph V. Rizzo
LYNDHURST--Joseph V. Rizzo, of Lyndhurst, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12. He was 72 years old. Mr. Rizzo was a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst and of Cape Coral, Fla.
He was a Manager for Bendix Corpation, Teterboro for 43 years, retiring in 1997. He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War (1959-62).
Joseph is survived by his wife, Senta (nee Orlando) Rizzo and his three children, Victor Rizzo of New Town, Pa., Joseph Rizzo of Midland Park and Martina Rizzo of Lyndhurst. He is also survived by his two sisters, Josephine Perello and Tina Mustardo, both of Lyndhurst, and seven grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral at the Nazare Memorial Home, then to the funeral Mass held at Sacred Heart Church, both in Lyndhurst. The services were followed by interment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.
Patricia M. Parkerton
Patricia M. Parkerton, of Carlstadt, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12. She was 78 years old. Ms. Parkerton was born in Passaic.
She was a graduate of Panzer College. She was a physical education teacher for St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford and Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield for many years. She served as a eucharistic minister for St. Mary’s Church.
Ms. Parkerton is predeceased by her parents, James and Lillian Parkerton. She is survived by many cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral at the Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home and then the funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, both in Rutherford. The services were followed by interment at the Calvary Mausoleum in Paterson.

Charles E. Castleburry
Charles E. Castleburry, of Clifton, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14. He was 69 years old. Mr. Castleburry was born and raised in New York, NY, lived in Lyndhurst for 38 years and has been a resident of Clifton for the past 10 years.
He worked for Hoffmann La Roche, Nutley as a calibrator technician for 5 years, retiring in 1990. He joined the Lyndhurst Volunteer Fire Department on their Truck Company in 1966. He was the Lyndhurst Fire Department Chief in 1983 until he retired in 1990.
Mr. Castleburry is survived by his wife, Eleanor, his daughter, D’Annette Castleburry and his dear grandson, Ethan Castleburry. He is also survived by his four siblings, Jacqueline Hernon, Mildred Peska and Rudolph and Anthony Rehfeld.
Relatives and friends attended the visiting held in Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst on Nov 16. The Lyndhurst Fire Department conducted a service on Nov 16. Interment was held later in Pa.
