Lucy Pollara
RUTHERFORD--Lucy Pollara (nee Lamagna) of Rutherford, N.J. died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007. She was 86 years of age. Mrs. Pollara was born in Newark, N.J. She was a homemaker.
She is predeceased by her husband Francis Pollara and her son Joseph Pollara. Mrs. Pollara is survived by three daughters Silvia Baldowski, Paula Fox and Lucille Catalini; one son Frank Pollara; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Edith Piscopo and Millie Laudati and brother Eugene LaMagna.
Friends were received Friday, Nov. 2 at Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford. A funeral mass was held on Saturday at St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Rutherford, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetary in North Arlington.
Andrew Rudowitz
NORTH ARLINGTON--Andrew Rudowitz of North Arlington passed away Oct. 30, 2007. He was born in Simpson, P.A. and lived in North Arlington for the past 68 years.
Mr. Rudowitz worked as a supervisor of engineering technology for Lucent Technologies in Newark for 41 years before retiring. He was named Bergen County North Arlington Citizen of the Year in 1995. He was a founding member and first president of the North Arlington High School Athletic Hall of Fame, a member of the North Arlington Booster Club, the Telephone Pioneers of America and a member and past treasurer of the first Baptist Church of Arlington in Kearny.
Mr. Rudowitz is survived by Helyn Rudowitz (nee Cottman), son William A. Rudowitz and his wife Marlene and daughter Marlene Tartaglia and her husband Frank. He is also survived by grandchildren Lee Andra, Andrew John “A.J.”, Brian, Laura and Kelsey.
Funeral services for Mr. Rudowitz were held on Nov. 2 at the Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington. The service was followed by interment at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
Edna Mary Kauffman
Edna Mary Kauffman (nee Moriarty) of Summerville, S.C., formerly of North Arlington, passed away Oct. 23, 2007. She was 95 years of age. Born in Bridgeport, C.T., she lived in North Arlington before moving to Summerville, S.C. two years ago.
Mrs. Kauffman received her nursing degree from St. Mary’s Hospital Nursing School in East Orange and worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic before retiring.
She is predeceased by husband Carl “Charlie” Kauffman. She is survived by daughter Mary E. Nolan; her hus-band William of Beach Haven Gardens, N.J. and daughter Susan A. Burgess and her husband William of Sum-merville, S.C. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and sister Doris Evanik.
A funeral service was offered on Oct. 27, in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington following the funeral from the Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington. The service was followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetary in North Arlington.

Helen Pierro
CARLSTADT--Helen Pierro (nee Montone) of Carlstadt passed away on Oct. 23, 2007. She was 83 years of age. She was born in Fairview.
Mrs. Pierro was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in East Rutherford.
She is predeceased by brothers Augustine Montone and Frank Montone. She is survived by husband Alphonse J. Pierro of Carlstadt; daughter Nancy Pollitto and her husband Robert of Colts Neck; and son David Pierro and his wife Barbara of East Rutherford. She is also survived by brother Anthony Montone and sister Emilie Ames.
A funeral mass was held at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in East Rutherford on Oct. 25. The service was followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetary in North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt.
Daniel R. Salandra
Daniel R. Salandra of Wood-Ridge passed away on Oct. 26, 2007. He was 81 years of age.
Mr. Salandra was a veteran of the United States Navy who served in World War II and a member of the American Legion. He worked for eight years for the Department of Defense as a quality control engineer in Singer’s of Little Falls before retiring in 1988. He was a parishioner of Assumption Church in Wood-Ridge and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Contemporary Club.
He is predeceased by son Daniel R. Salandra, Jr. He is survived by wife Dorothy J. Salandra and son Brian E. Salandra.
A funeral service was held Oct. 29 at the Kimak Funeral Home. The service was followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetary in North Arlington.
Charlotte F. Errico
Charlotte F. Errico (nee Spingola) of Hasbrouck Heights, and previously of Carlstadt, passed away Oct. 23, 2007. She was born in Hoboken.
Mrs. Errico was a parishioner, eucharistic minister, religious education teacher and choir member of St. Jo-seph’s Church in East Rutherford. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Carlstadt. She was employed by the Borough of Carlstadt as the mayor’s administrative assistant before retiring in 1999.
She is predeceased by brother William Faist. She is survived by husband Dr. Nicholas Errico and sons Paul J. Errico and David T. Errico. She is also survived by brothers Charles Faist and James Faist.
Funeral services were held Oct. 26 at the Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt and at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in East Rutherford. The services were followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
