James T. Ciancia

 

James T. Ciancia of Paterson, formerly of North Arlington, passed away Sept. 26, 2007. He was 70 years of age. Mr. Ciancia was born in Jersey City and lived in Kearny and North Arlington before moving to Paterson five years ago.

He was predeceased by his wife Eileen. He is survived by his children Christine Kalinowski and her husband John, James Anthony Ciancia and his wife Sheila and Diane Theresa Ciancia and her fiance’ Robert Lennon and grandchildren Melissa, Maegan, Brittany, Lindsy, Jesse, Jonathan and Nicole.

A funeral Mass was held Sept. 29 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church following the funeral at the Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Grace Mirigliano

 

Grace Mirigliano (nee Abate) of East Orange, formerly of Lyndhurst, passed away Sept. 26, 2007. She was 94 years of age. Mrs. Mirigliano was born in Guttenberg and lived for a time in Lyndhurst before moving to East Orange.

She was predeceased by her husband Andrew Mirigliano. She is survived by her sister Lucy Benedict, her brother Sam Abate and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral Mass was held on Sept. 29 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Lyndhurst after a funeral at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Berrian J. Eller

 

LYNDHURST - Berrian J. Eller of Lyndhurst passed away Sept. 26, 2007 in St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital in Wayne. He was 87 years of age. Mr. Eller was born in Jersey City and moved to Lyndhurst 55 years ago.

Mr. Eller was employed as an electrical engineer for Western Electric for 40 years before he retired in 1990. He served in the navy during Word War II and was a member of the North Arlington Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife Catherine, sons Tom Eller and Jim Eller, daughter Patricia Dieterle, his sister Rita Hauck, his grandchildren Brian, Timothy, Shaun and Stephen Eller and Cindy and Matthew Dieterle and his great-grandchildren Patrick and Owen Eller.

A funeral Mass was held Sept. 19 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Lyndhurst after a service at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Anna Potelunas

 

LYNDHURST - Anna Potelunas (nee Amos) of Lyndhurst passed away Sept. 24, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic. She was 90 years of age. Mrs. Potelunas was born in West Virginia and lived in Jersey City, Newark and Pennsylvania before moving to Lyndhurst 57 years ago.

Mrs. Potelunas worked as a presser for the George Bollenbach Company for over 20 years before she retired.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter Robert Potelunas and her son Walter Potelunas. She is survived by her two sons Larry and Robert Potelunas.

A funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Lyndhurst.

Arrangements were made by Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst.

 

Valerie P. Cimicata

LYNDHURST - Valerie P. Cimicata (nee Reiprich) of Lyndhurst passed away on Sept. 25, 2007. She was 81 years of age. Mrs. Cimicata was born in South Amboy, and resided in Freehold before moving to Lyndhurst 55 years ago.

She worked as a special education teacher for the Board of Education of Manhattan, NY for 21 years before she retired in 1992.

Mrs. Cimicata was predeceased by her husband Thomas Cimicata. She is survived by her sister Marie Herleth of Lindenhurst, NY, children Thomas Cimicata of Lyndhurst, Ann Lewis and her husband, Glenn of Brandenburg, John Cimicata and his wife, Eileen of Lyndhurst, Valerie Troncone and her husband Anthony of Lyndhurst, Mary Malkowski of Lyndhurst and Paul Cimicata and his wife Michele of Lyndhurst; her grandchildren Carlee, Sara, Marissa Malkowski, Anthony, David, Lisa Troncone, John, Jessie, Christopher, Nicholas Cimicata, and Danielle, Brian and Nicole Lewis.

A funeral mass was held on Sept. 29 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lyndhurst after a service at the Nazare Memorial Home. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

 

Mary D. Millar

 

Mary D. Millar (nee Kramer) passed away Sept. 25, 2007 at Prospect Heights Rehab in Hackensack. She was 87 years of age. Mrs. Millar was born in Pittston, PA and lived in both Lyndhurst and North Arlington.

Mrs. Millar was employed by Howard Savings in North Arlington for 10 years before she retired.

She was predeceased by her husband of 16 years John Patrick Egan; her husband of 11 years Robert Miller; and her daughter Jude Ann Egan-Deyra. She is survived by her son John Patrick Egan Jr. and his wife Judy of Murray Hill, daughters Mary Jill Bagnuolo and her husband Carmine of Lyndhurst and Jane Ellen Grimes and her husband Patrick of West Avoca, PA; her grandchildren Carmine, Christopher, John, Patrick and Kelly Ann.

A funeral Mass was held Sept. 28 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Lyndhurst after a service at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home.

Anthony S. Cucco

 

north arlington — Anthony S. Cucco of North Arlington passed away Sept. 20, 2007. He was 82 years of age. Mr. Cucco was born in Jersey City and resided there before moving to North Arlington over 50 years ago.

Mr. Cucco was former owner of Waldron Milk in Jersey City and was employed as a garment worker for Formflex in Saddlebrook before retiring in 1988. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Cucco was a singer and entertainer who performed for elderly and infirm individuals in at area hospitals, senior center and social clubs. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Chapter, Knights of Columbus Glee club, North Arlington American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War, vice president of Happy Seniors in North Arlington, vice president of St. Michael’s Leisure Club in Lyndhurst and member of the Alhambra-El Sheedy Chapter in North Arlington.

Mr. Cucco is survived by his wife Louise Cucco (nee Ruggieri), daughters and sons-in-law Susanne and Robert Fassold of East Brunswick, Cathy and John Fox of North Arlington and grandchildren Ryan, Erin, Brady and Christie.

Family and friends were received Sept. 23 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral service was held Sept. 24, followed by a Mass in St. Michael’s R.C. Church in Lyndhurst. Interment was held in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Robert V. Cali

 

rutherford — Robert V. Cali of Rutherford passed away Sept. 21, 2007. He was 80 years of age. Mr. Cali was born in Kearny.

Mr. Cali was employed as art director for "Reader’s Digest" in New York, NY. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Cali was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Cali (nee Maska) and his brother Thomas Cali. He is survived by his sons Thomas Cali and Robert Cali and grandson Alex.

A funeral Mass was offered in St. Steven’s Churchin Kearny. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford.

 

Ann Benedetto

 

north arlington — Ann Benedetto (nee La Scola) of North Arlington passed away Sept. 23, 2007. She was born and raised in Lyndhurst before moving to North Arlington in 1954.

Mrs. Benedetto worked as a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband Victor Steve Benedetto. Mrs. Benedetto is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Virginia and Richard Vartan of East Rutherford, JoAnn and Paul Stasko of Oakland, granddaughters and husbands Michelle and Ron Novis, Lynda and Chris Marinello, Paula and Mark Presto, Beth Stasko, grandson and wife Paul and Sandra Stasko and six great-grandchildren.

Family and friends were received Sept. 25 at Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral service was held Sept. 26, followed by a funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst. Entombment was in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.

 

Louis V. Razzetti, Jr.

 

lyndhurst — Louis V. Razzetti, Jr. passed away Sept. 27, 2007. Born in Hackensack, he was a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst. Mr. Razzetti was employed as a glazier. H served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local #1095 based in Springfield.

Mr. Razzetti is survived by his wife Colleen Razzetti (nee Waters) of Lyndhurst, daughters Karen and Michelle Razzetti, mother Mary E. Razzetti of Lyndhusrt, sister Janet Hooper, three grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.

Family and friends were received Sept. 29 at Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral was held Oct. 1, followed by a Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst. Entombment was held in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.

 

Carol Frances Ennis

 

Carol Frances Ennis passed away Sept. 24, 2007 at the Somerset Medical Center. Born in Hackensack, he was a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst.

Ms. Ennis was predeceased by her parents, William C. and Cecilia F. Ennis. She is survived by her brother, William C. Ennis; her sister, Marie C. Ennis, Jr.; her niece, Dawn R. Ennis; her nephew, Rev. Mark W. Ennis and wife Pamela and Carlos C. Ennis and wife Patricia and several cousins.

Family and friends were received Sept. 26 at Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford. A funeral was held Sept. 27, followed by a ceremony at Old Bergen Church in Jersey City. Interment was held at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

William J. Renke, Sr.

 

Carlstadt — William J. Renke passed away Sept. 23, 2007. He was 84 years of age. Born in New York, NY, he lived in Carlstadt. Mr. Renke was a bartender for Bob’s Restaurant in Garfield for five years, before retiring in 1985. Previously, he had been a steamfitter in New York, NY for 10 years.

Mr. Renke was predeceased by his brother, George; his son John and his grandson Skyler. He is survived by his wife Jennie Renke (nee Franzello) of Carlstadt; his sons William J. Renke and wife Sharon of Oak Ridge, James G. Renke of Carlstadt and Gerard S. Renke of Carlstadt; his daughter Donna M. Lovisa and husband Robert of Elmwood Park; grandchildren Ryan, William, Jessica, Giovanna, John and Gina and great-grandchild, Josiah.

Family and friends were received Sept. 25 at the Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt. A funeral was held Sept. 26 followed by interment at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Carlstadt.
