Patricia Maulfair

 

Patricia Maulfair (nee Scollan) passed away Sept 15, 2007 in Prospect Heights Care Center in Hackensack. She was 67 years of age. Born in New York, NY, she resided in Harrison and North Arlington before moving to Kearny 25 years ago.

Mrs. Maulfair was co-owner of Maulfair Trucking Co., Inc. in Kearny with her husband Howard. She also worked for Consolidated Cigar in Secaucus, Colgate in Jersey City and Breeze-Eastern before retiring in 2002.

Mrs. Maulfair is survived by her husband Howard, daughters and sons-in-law Elizabeth and Richard Cicchetii, Patricia and Manuel DaSilva, son Raymond and Barbara Maulfair, grandchildren Katie DaSilva, Carl Maulfair and sister Agnes Catena.

A funeral service was offered Sept. 19 at Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington, followed by a Mass in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington. Entombment was held in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, also in North Arlington.

Thomas Joseph Monahan, Jr.

 

Thomas Joseph Monahan, Jr. passed away Sept.15, 2007. He was 76 years of age. Mr. Monahan was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in West New York, NJ before moving to North Bergen 30 years ago.

He was employed as a truck driver for 25 years before retiring. Mr. Monahan was a SR-Class V6 in the Navy, as well as a Second Commander of Amvets of Lyndhurst and a member of Teamsters Local #64 for 35 years.

Mr. Monahan is survived by his wife Rosa Monahan (nee Viales), daughter Judy Ann Monahan of Rutherford, step son Juan Palazio, step daughters Barbara Canosa and Lydia Galan, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Joan Monahan, sister and brother-in-law Marie and Gerald Villano, granddaughters Jennifer Wilson, Nicole Brunner, Allison Rose Monahan-Griffith, eight step grandchildren, one step great-grandson, nephews Richard and Reagen and nieces Christine and Valerie.

Family and friends were received Sept. 19 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral service was held Sept. 20, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

George Gordan Muttart

George Gordan Muttart passed away Sept. 16, 2007 in Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. He was 79 years of age. Mr. Muttart was born in Jersey City, and resided in Rutherford before moving to Long Valley 30 years ago.

He was founder of National Elevator Corporation and retired in 1998. Mr. Muttart served as Sergeant in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Rutherford Volunteer Fire Department Co. #2 and the Free and Accepted Masons.

Mr. Muttart was predeceased by his wife Marita Muttart (nee Boin). He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Douglas K. and Janet Muttart, son Kenneth, sister Barbara Ostler, grandchildren Douglas J., Darren and Jacueline and great-grandchildren Olivin, Dean, Raegan and Juliette.

Family and friends were received Sept. 19 at Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford. A funeral service was held Sept. 20, followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

Olive M. Ascoli

 

North Arlington – Olive M. Ascoli (nee Munce) of North Arlington passed away Sept. 17, 2007. She was 85 years of age. Mrs. Ascoli was born in Jersey City and has lived in North Arlington ever since she moved to the town in 1946.

Mrs. Ascoli was a member of the Teaneck Women’s Club and the manager of the Medallion Card & Gift Shop in North Arlington for many years before she retired 20 years ago.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph "Sonny" Ascoli. She is survived by her brother Howard Munce; her children Audrey Lynn Ascoli, Joseph Alan Ascoli and Arthur Ascoli and his wife Cathy; her grandchildren Tracy Bougades and her husband John, Joseph Ascoli and his wife Christine, David Ascoli, Michael Ascoli, Colleen Matusek, Scott Matusek, Eileen Merkle, Jeff Merkle; her great-grandchildren Nicholas, Jaclyn, Gianna, Melanie, Alyssa, Matthew and Grace; and by many friends and pets.

A funeral service was held on Sept. 21 in the Parrow Funeral Home of North Arlington. Interment followed in Hillside Cemetary in Lyndhurst. Raymond M. Cicchino

 

Raymond M. Cicchino of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of North Arlington, passed away Sept. 17, 2007 at the Ocean Medical center in Brick. He was 50 years of age. Mr. Cicchino was born in Kearny and lived in North Arlington and Brick before moving to Jacksonville 17 years ago.

Mr. Cicchino was a graduate of Queen of Peace Grammar School and North Arlington High School. He worked as an inspector with the Federal Railroad Administration for the past 17 years. Prior to that he worked as a tower operator with Conrail in Newark.

He was predeceased by his father Martin Cicchino. He is survived by his mother Anne Cicchino of Bricktown; his siblings Martin Cicchino of Maplewood, Robert Cicchino and his wife Donna of Blairstown and Susan Farrell and her husband John of North Arlington and his nephews and nieces John and Jessica Cicchino and Breanne and Michael Farrell.

A funeral Mass was held Sept. 17 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington following a funeral at Parrow Funeral Home in North Arlington.

Joseph E. DeJacomo

North Arlington —Joseph E. DeJacomo of North Arlington passed away Sept.11, 2007 at home. He was 78 years of age. Mr. DeJacomo was born in Kearny and resided in Jersey City before moving to North Arlington more than 50 years ago.

He was employed as a CPA and had his own accounting firm. Mr. DeJacomo was also an adjunct professor of accounting at Edward Williams College of Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a member of the board of directors of Kearny Federal Savings, a past president of the Hudson County Chapter of New Jersey State Society of CPAs, member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, Young Businessmen’s Association of Jersey City and was an active community volunteer.

Mr. DeJacomo is survived by his wife Agnes, sons Joseph, John, daughter Linda, daughter and son-in-law Carol and Glenn, grandson Mattew, sister Dolores Manzo, aunt Marie Callori, mother-in-law Agnes Allen, several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Parow Funeral home in North Arlington made the arrangements.

Eileen Marie Judge

 

Eileen Marie Judge (nee Curley) of Wood-Ridge passed away Sept.17, 2007. She was 67 years of age. Mrs. Judge was born in New York City.

She worked for the City of New York as a data entry clerk for 30 years before retiring in 2005. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in East Rutherford.

Mrs. Judge is survived by her sister Mary Ellen Curley Kainberg and husband John of Wood-Ridge; brother John Curley and wife Maura of Newark; nephews John and Michael; nieces Patricia and Rebecca and aunt Eileen Bennett of New York.

Friends and family were received at Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt Sept. 20. A funeral was held Sept. 21 at the funeral home, followed by Mass at St. Joseph’s Chuch in East Rutherford and interment in St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Bronx, NY.

George R. Kaufman

 

Rutherford — George R. Kaufman passed away Sept. 20, 2007. Mr. Kaufman was born in Staten Island, NY and lived in Rutherford before moving to Monroe Township.

He worked as a supervisor for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., New York, NY. He served in the 93rd Airdrome Squadron of the Army Air Corps. during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Kaufman was predeceased by his wife Gladys Kaufman (nee Lundberg). He is suriveved by his sister Evelyn Stockert; brother-in-law Donald Lundberg and wife Lillian; his sister-in-law Helen Ehnat; his nieces Susan Garbe and Janice Guzman; his nephews Frank Bender, Rob Bender, Tom Bender and their families and many great nieces and great nephews.

Friends and family were received Sept. 21 at Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford. A funeral was held Sept. 22 followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

Concetta P. Geraci

 

Lyndhurst — Concetta P. Geraci (nee Tedesco) of Lyndhurst passed away Aug. 24, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic. She was 86 years of age. Mrs. Geraci was born in Garfield and lived there before moving to Lyndhurst 65 years ago.

She worked as a clothing inspector for Ornstein’s Fashion in Garfield for 20 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Lyndhurst Friendship Club, the Ladies Garment Union and a parishioner of St. Michael’s R.C. Church in Lyndhurst.

Mrs. Geraci is pre-deceased by her sisters Rose Day, Sadie Luterzo and Antoinette Manzo and her brothers Joseph Tedesco and Tony "D" Tedesco. She is survived by her husband Patrick F. Geraci, her daughters Antoinette Sigrist and husband Herb, Geri Alfano and husband Fred and Connie Ascoli; her son Wayne Geraci and wife Barbara; her grandchildren Robin, Nicole, Diane, Tracy, Joe, Christine, Melissa and Wayne and her great-grandchildren Nicholas, Jaclyn, Gianna, Melanie, Tony, Madison, Jessica and Ryan.

A funeral was held on Aug. 29 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home followed by Mass in St. Michael’s Church in Lyndhurst and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad, 367 Valley Brook Avenue, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.
