Ethel V. Bergquist

 

Lyndhurst — Ethel V. Bergquist (nee Brockman) of Lyndhurst passed away Aug. 24, 2007 at the age of 100. She was born in Hoboken and resided in Lyndhurst for most of her life.

Mrs. Bergquist worked as a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Bergquist. She is survived by her children Doris Bergquist of Lyndhurst, Roger Bergquist of Ringoes and Richard Bergquist of Highland Lakes, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst.

Stanley A. Yesalonia

 

Lyndhurst — Stanley A. Yesalonia of Lyndhurst passed away Aug. 24, 2007 in Select Specialty Hospital in Rochelle Park. He was 77 years of age. Mr. Yesalonia was born in Jersey City and lived there before moving to Lyndhurst 47 years ago.

He was employed as a truck driver for Condict Trucking, Lester/Fellows Trucking and Ryder Trucking Co. in Moonachie before retiring in 1985. Mr. Yesalonia was a member of Local 641 and Local 560 International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Mr. Yesalonia was predeceased by his wife Theresa Yesalonia (nee Chimento). He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law MaryAnn and Harold Lukachyk, daughter Janet LaRosa, brothers Charles Yesalonia and Vincent Yesalonia, grandchildren Lisa and Alex Motichka, Wendy and Richard Gallo, Harry and Kristine Lukachyk, Michael, Vincent, Danielle and Anthony LaRosa and eight great-grandchildren.

Family and friends were received Aug. 26 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral service was held Aug. 27, followed by a Mass in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Lyndhurst. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Frances M. O’Brien

 

Frances M. O’Brien (nee Haughey) passed away Aug. 27, 2007. She was 92 years of age. Mrs. O’Brien was born in Jersey City before moving to Lyndhurst in 1948. She moved to Oklahoma in 1999 and moved to Florida in 2006 to live with her daughter. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. O’Brien is predeceased by her husband Thomas J. O’Brien and her daughter Kathleen Miraglia. She is survived by her daughter Rosemary Crupi, sister Emily Weiersta, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst and a funeral Mass was held immediately afterward at Sacred Heart Church. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Jeffrey P. Hogancamp

 

rutherford — Jeffrey P. Hogancamp of Rutherford passed away Aug. 24, 2007. He was 52 years of age. Mr. Hogancamp was born in Passaic.

He was a self-employed electrician. He was also a member of American Legion Post 109 of Rutherford.

Mr. Hogancamp was predeceased by his father Robert Hogancamp and sister Susan Hogancamp. He is survived by his mother Alice Hogancamp and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Family and friends were received Aug. 26 at Macagna Diffily Funeral Home in Rutherford. A funeral service was offered Aug. 27. There was a private cremation.

Elizabeth H. Conant

Elizabeth H. Conant (nee Hall) passed away Aug. 28, 2007 in her residence. She was 96 years of age. Mrs. Conant was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Madison and Rutherford before moving to Silver Bay, NY.

She was employed as a schoolteacher at several high schools in northern New Jersey for many years. She also ran the daytime program at the Rutherford Adult School, where she taught math and bridge.

Mrs. Conant was predeceased by her husband H. Weston Conant. She is survived by her son Theodore W. Conant of Richmond, Vermont and Silver Bay, NY, daughter Joyce E. Buchanan of Madison, NJ and Silver Bay, NY, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and niece Maren V. Bell of Closter.

A memorial service will be offered in the New Providence United Methodist Church, Nov. 10. Arrangements were made by Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga, NY.

Richard J. Smerecki, Sr.

 

CarlStadt — Richard J. Smerecki, Sr. passed away Aug. 23, 2007. He was 42 years of age. Mr. Smerecki lived in Carlstadt.

He worked as a baker for ShopRite in Passaic. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in East Rutherford, a member of the Knights of Columbus Local 4644 in Wallington and coached Carlstadt Little League for many years.

Mr. Smerecki was predeceased by his brother Peter Smerecki. He is survived by his wife Sharon (nee Knowlden) Smerecki, children Samantha, Richard Jr. and Stephen, parents Paul and Celina (nee Blaz) Smerecki of Carlstadt, brother Michael and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family were received at Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt Aug. 27. A funeral was held Aug. 28 followed by a Mass in St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in East Rutherford. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook.

Catherine Lanzetti

 

Lyndhurst — Catherine Lanzetti passed away Aug. 26, 2007. She was 46 years of age. Ms. Lanzetti was born in Jersey City and lived in Lyndhurst for most of her life.

She worked as an accountant for AEP Industries, Inc. in South Hackensack for 10 years. She was a volunteer for the Tennis for Life organization and a member of the Lyndhurst High School Parent Teacher Association.

Ms. Lanzetti is survived by her daughter Samantha San Filippo of Lyndhurst, sister Holly K. Maschio and husband Frank, former husband Joseph "Sam" San Filippo and nieces Alice and Jacalyn Freda and Victoria Maschio and nephew Jonathon Maschio.

Family and friends were received Aug. 28 at Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral service was held Aug. 29, followed by a Mass in Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst. There was a private cremation.

William Orlikowski

Lyndhurst — William Orlikowski passed away Aug. 28, 2007. He was 82 years of age. Mr. Orlikowski was born, raised and lived all his life in Lyndhurst. He served in the navy during World War II and was employed by Toyota Motor Co. in Totowa.

Mr. Orlikowski is pre-deceased by his brother John Orlikowski. He is survived by his wife Catherine, daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Frank Rzasa, son and daughter-in-law William and Delores Orlikowski Jr., son Richard Orlikwoski, sister Elizabeth Binder, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family and friends were received Aug. 30 for a ceremony at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst immediately followed by a funeral Mass at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Lyndhurst.
