Alice V. Wormke

 

Lyndhurst — Alice V. Wormke (nee Geary) of Lyndhurst, passed away Aug. 16, 2007. She was 66 years of age. Mrs. Wormke was born in Passaic and remained a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst.

She was employed as a secretary at Universal Oil Products for 10 years, Becton Dickinson Co., 8 years and most recently for the principal of Lyndhurst High School for 19 years. She retired in 2006.

Mrs. Wormke was predeceased by brothers John and Thomas Geary and sister Maryellen McCarthy. She is survived by her husband Charles N. Wormke of Lyndhurst, children Jennifer Wormke and J. Kevin Wormke, both of Lyndhurst and J. Michael Wormke of Geneva, Switzerland. She is also survived by her grandchildren Isabella and Benjamin and brother William J. Geary of Lyndhurst.

Family and friends were received Aug. 19 at Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral Mass was offered Aug. 20 in Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst, followed by entombment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.

Mary A. Olivo

 

Lyndhurst—Mary A. Olivo (nee Siclari) of Lyndhurst passed away Aug. 18, 2007. She was 95 years of age. Mrs. Siclari was born in Nutley and resided there before moving to Lyndhurst where she made her home for 70 years.

She worked as a homemaker. Mrs. Olivo was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lyndhurst and a member of its choir for 25 years. She was past president of the church’s Rosary Society, president of Mount Carmel Seniors and was responsible for the religious article booth during the Annual Mount Carmel Feast for many years.

Mrs. Olivo was predeceased by her husband Charles A. Olivo. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Frances and Morris Settembrino of Bridgewater, sons and daughters-in-law James and Judy Olivo of Carlstadt, Joseph and Cindy Olivo of Salisbury Mills, NY, grandchildren Kevin and Jeff Settembrino, Stephen, Michael, Nicholas and Samuel Olivo and great-granddaughter Lucy Ann Olivo.

Family and friends were received Aug. 21 at Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral was held Aug. 23, followed by a Mass in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lyndhurst. Interment was held in St.Joseph’s Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

Vincent A. Rosa Sr.

 

Vincent A. Rosa Sr. of Lyndhurst passed away August 18, 2007. He was 94 years of age. Mr. Rosa was born in Benevento, Italy and immigrated to the Bronx before moving to Lyndhurst, where he has lived since 1952.

Mr. Rosa owned and operated Rosa Electrical Appliances in Lyndhurst from 1946 until he retired in 1970. He was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Post 2396.

Mr. Rosa is pre-deceased by his wife, Carmela Rosa, his son, Richard Rosa, and granddaughter Elizabeth Rosa. He is survived by his son, Vincent Rosa Jr. and his wife Joan; his daughter, Virginia Wallace and her husband Bruce; his five grandchildren Cynthia Wallace Gagliardi, John Wallace, Anita Bokan, Vincent Rosa III and Toni Ann Wujcik; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Aug. 23 at the Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst followed by a funeral mass at Interment Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. Bridget Sgambati

 

North Arlington — Bridget Sgambati (nee Finnegan) of North Arlington passed away Aug. 17, 2007 in Bristol Manor in Rochelle Park. She was 88 years of age. Mrs. Sgambati was born in Belfast, Ireland and resided in Harrison before moving to North Arlington over 50 years ago.

She was employed as an assembler for Tung-Sol Electric in Bloomfield. She later worked for the North Arlington Board of Education as a matron in North Arlington High School for 10 years and retired in 1982. Mrs. Sgambati was a member of the Interfaith Senior Citizens of North Arlington.

She is survived by her husband Charles Sgambati, children John Sgambati, Sheila Quick, Maureen Timpone, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother Jerry Finnegan and sister Theresa Royal.

A funeral was held Aug. 20 at Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington, followed by a Mass in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington. Entombment was in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.

Joso "Joe" Milutin

 

Joso "Joe" Milutin passed away Aug. 20, 2007. He was 77 years of age. Mr. Milutin was born in Coatia and immigrated to the United States in 1954. He was a resident of Whiting.

Mr. Milutin worked as a Merchant Marine and later was employed in the garment industry.

He is survived by his wife Teresija, son Joseph and daughter-in-law Cindy, grandson Joey, brother Frank and son Neven.

Family and friends were received Aug. 22 at Collins-Calhoun Funeral Homein Rutherford. A funeral Mass was offered in St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Rutherford, followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

Geraldine Freda

 

Geraldine Freda passed away Aug. 18, 2007. She was 71 years of age. Ms. Freda was born in Newark and lived most of her life in Lyndhurst before moving to San Antonio, TX seven years ago.

She worked as a homemaker.

Ms. Freda was predeceased by her sister Genevieve La Stella. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Marianne Caroselli and Edgar James of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX and brother and sister-in-law Louis and Angela Freda of Lyndhurst. Ms. Freda is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephew, aunts and uncles and cousins.

Family and friends were received Aug. 23 at Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral service was held Aug. 27, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Richard A. Puleo

 

Lyndhurst — Richard A. Puleo passed away Aug. 19, 2007 at his home in Lyndhurst. He was 64 years of age. Mr. Puleo was born in Belleville and lived there before moving to Lyndhurst 35 years ago.

He worked as a carpenter for the Carpenters Local 2212 before retiring in 2004. He was a member of Elks lodge 1505 and American Legion Post 139. He was a girls and boys soccer coach and founded girls soccer in Lyndhurst.

He was predeceased by his father Francis, and his brothers James and Frank. He is survived by his wife Ellen Puleo (nee Duffy), mother Mary Puleo (nee Gardi), daughter Nicole and husband Jason, son Richard Jr. and wife Rebecca, brother Chicky Puleo and grandchildren Eli, Sammy, Nola and Jake.

Family and friends were received Aug. 21 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral Mass was held Aug. 22 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Lyndhurst, followed by interment in Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington.

Clifford J. Wagner

 

Carlstadt— Clifford J. Wagner, a lifelong resident of Carlstadt, passed away Aug. 23, 2007. He was 89. He was born in Carlstadt.

Mr. Wagner was employed as vice president and plant manager for Randolph Products Company, Carlstadt before retiring in 1989. He served in the Army during WWII. He was a Past Commander and lifetime member of the Schmidt-Hoeger V.F.W. Post 3149, a lifetime member of the G.C. Burkadt American Legion Post 69 and member of the Carlstadt Senior Friendship Club.

Mr. Wagner is is survived by his wife Gloria Kling Wagner, daughters Claire Foy of Carlstadt and Donna Todd of California, grandchildren Eric Hiller, Cherie Moss, Ryan Todd and great-grandfather of four.

Family and friends were received Aug. 26 at Kimak Funeral Home in Carlstadt. A funeral service was held Aug. 26.
