Burglary/Theft

Rutherford

On Aug. 17, at approximately 1:46 a.m., an attendant at the Lukoil gas station on Route 17 North reported that a woman in a black car drove into the station and requested $20 worth of gas. When the attendant finished filling up her car she handed him a tightly folded bill. When he asked how much it was, she fled. The bill turned out to be an insufficient amount. The attendant managed to copy down the car’s license plate number and track the car to a residence but when they arrived, no one was home. No complaint has yet been filed.

On Aug. 15, at approximately 11:26 p.m., a juvenile reported that while she was at a friend’s birthday party on Ridge Road, her purse was taken from beside the pool where she had left it. The purse was later found in an upstairs room in the house. A wallet, cash, a cell phone and an iPod together valued at $761 were all missing from the purse. The officers who responded found another juvenile at the party to be in possession of the iPod and the cell phone was found broken in the garage. Juvenile charges are pending.

On Aug. 13, at approximately 2:38 p.m., a woman reported that her car’s driver’s side door lock was punched while it was parked overnight on Wilson Avenue.

On Aug. 12, at approximately 11 p.m., an employee of Felician College reported a vending machine on campus had been broken into. One hundred and twenty five dollars in cash as well as a $400 validator and a $35 money box were all stolen from the machine.

On Aug. 12, at approximately 9:02 p.m., a man on Belford Avenue reported that he paid a Palisades Park man to perform construction repairs on his home nearly a year ago and to date $10,300 worth of repairs have still not been completed.

On Aug. 12, at approximately 4:27 a.m., a man on Lynn Court reported that his Mercedes Benz was stolen sometime between 4:20 and 4:30 a.m. The man had been outside in his garage; he went inside to change his clothes and when he returned ten minutes later, his Mercedes Benz was gone. He told officers he left his car keys on the seat in the car and the garage door was slightly open. It appeared as though the bumper of another car in the garage had been hit while the vehicle was being removed.

Criminal Mischief

East Rutherford

On Aug. 16, at approximately 2:13 p.m., police responded to a complainant at 29 Jane St. who reported an unknown person had hit her home with several eggs.

On Aug. 11, at approximately 8:48 p.m., a complainant reported finding the right rear window on his 2004 Toyota broken. He stated that the vehicle was parked outside 123 Boiling Springs Ave. when he found it damaged.

 

 

On Aug. 14, at approximately 8:30 a.m., complainant at 716 Paterson Ave. reported that he found his two vehicles to have liquid stains on them, and that the stains appeared to be dog urine. The complainant stated that he has had some problems with a neighbor in the apartment building who has a dog.

Rutherford

On Aug. 12, at approximately 11:21 p.m., an employee at Burger King reported that a white male with red hair in a blue Jeep Cherokee ordered a small soda from the drive-through window. When the customer pulled up to get the soda he threw it back at the employee and drove away.

On Aug. 12, at approximately 4:20 p.m., a man reported his car’s driver’s side window was broken, though nothing appeared to be missing. The damage most likely occurred between 10 a.m. and noon of that day.

On Aug. 12, at approximately 2:33 p.m., a woman reported her car’s front hood and driver’s and passenger’s side doors were scratched while it was parked on Daniel Avenue sometime between 7 p.m. the previous night and 2:30 p.m. of that day.

On Aug. 11, at approximately 12:42 p.m., an employee of the Washington School reported he found graffiti on the jungle gym. The words "WCK" and a picture of an inverted crown were drawn in marker.

On Aug. 11, at approximately 7:01 a.m., someone at the Kip Garage reported a pane of elevator glass had been shattered.

Warrants

East Rutherford

On Aug. 15, at approximately 11:32 p.m., East Orange Police informed East Rutherford that they had David Jenkins, 35, of New York City on an East Rutherford arrest warrant.

On Aug. 16, at approximately 1:14 p.m., State Police contacted East Rutherford and advised that they had Benjamin M. Walker, 32, of the Bronx, NY in custody on East Rutherford Municipal Court warrants. He was transported to Bergen County Jail on several warrants amounting to a total bail of $1800.

On Aug. 13, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Kearny police called East Rutherford Police on a warrant check for Stephanie Kirkland, 22, of Clinton Place, Newark. The $350 warrant was confirmed and Kirkland was transported to Bergen County Jail.

On Aug. 11, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department brought Ricardo Arroyo, 32, of the Bronx, NY to the East Rutherford Police Department. Arroyo had an outstanding warrant out of the East Rutherford Municipal Court. Arroyo paid the $440 bail.
