Carol A. Wierciszewski
LYNDHURST – Carol A. Wierciszewski (nee Dziedzic) of Lyndhurst passed away August 6,2007 in Saint Mary’s Hospital in Passaic. She was 65 years of age. Mrs. Wierciszewski was born in Brooklyn, New York and resided in Cliffside Park before moving to Lyndhurst.
She was employed by Mobile Oil in Brooklyn for 6 years as a secretary.
Mrs. Wierciszewski is survived by her husband Henry Wierciszewski, three sons, Ronald, Richard and Michael, daughter Karen Wierciszewski and brother Raymond Douglas.
A funeral was held Friday Aug. 10 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst, followed by a mass at St. Michael’s Churchin Lyndhurst. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
June M. Brillo
LYNDHURST – June M. Brillo (nee Tierney) of Lyndhurst passed away August 6, 2007 in Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack. Mrs. Brillo was born in Teaneck, and resided in Jersey city before moving to Lyndhurst for 42 years.
She was employed by Food Town in Lyndhurst as a Bakery Clerk for 25 years, and was a member of the United Food & Commercial Workers Local-1262 AFL-CIO.
Mrs. Brillo is pre-deceased by her husband, the late John M. Brillo. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws; John W. & Ainslee, Steven M. & Nancy, David A. & Noreen; Brothers, David, James and Raymond; Sister Jean; grandchildren, Ernie, Eleanor, Charlie, John and Nicholas, and her dear friend Anthony DiBrito.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday Aug. 11 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst.
Ann Dunn
RUTHERFORD – Ann Dunn (nee Gentile) of Rutherford passed away August 5, 2007. She was 84 years of age. Mrs. Dunn was born in Paterson, and lived in Carlstadt for 50 years before moving to Rutherford in 2002.
Mrs. Dunn was employed by Dunn’s Towing in Carlstadt as Manager of Finance and Operations before retiring in 1977.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, the late Edward P. Dunn Jr. Mrs. Dunn is survived by sons Paul and James; grandchildren Adam, Brian, Marissa and Lauren Dunn; her Sister Mary Montefusco; and brothers John and Bart Gentile.
A funeral was held Aug.9 at the Nazare Memorial Home, followed by mass at Sacred Heart Church. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
George F. Woertz Jr.
LYNDHURST – George F. Woertz Jr. passed away August 9, 2007. He was born in Houston, TX but lived in Lyndhurst for most of his life.
He was a plumber and the owner and operator of George Woertz Plumbing from 1959 until 2005 when he retired. He was a member of the Lyndhurst Volunteer Fire Department, Truck Co. 1 and Hose Co. 2 from 1959 until he retired in 1990. He was Fire Chief in 1977.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin, Robert and Gregory Woertz; brother John Woertz; and sister Victoria Woertz.
A funeral service was held Aug. 12 at the Nazare Memorial Home.
Mary Lou M. Aranguren
LYNDHURST – Mary Lou M. Aranguren (nee Ristiano) passed away August 5, 2007. She was 76 years of age. Mrs. Aranguren was born in Jersey City, lived in Lyndhurst for 5 years before moving back to Jersey City, and since 1999 has lived in Bayonne.
She worked for NJ Bell Telephone as a Telephone Operator for 29 years before retiring in 1993. She was also a member of Pioneers of America.
Mrs. Aranguren is survived by husband Edward F. Aranguren; daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Butchie Velazquez; son and daughter-in-law Cory and Kelly Aranguren; son William; sister and brother-in-law Rose and Jospeh Motisi;and brother John Rostiano. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Aug. 9 at the Nazare Funeral Home in Lyndhurst followed by mass a the Sacred Heart Church. Interment was held at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.
Gertrude Realini
North Arlington - Gertrude Realini passed away August 8, 2007 at the Hamilton Plaza Nursing Center in Passaic. She was 95 years of age. Mrs. Realini was born in Jersey City and lived in North Arlington since 1975.
She worked as a salesgirl for Hahne’s & Company in Newark for 25 years before retiring 23 years ago. She was also a member of the Nutrition Center in North Arlington.
Mrs.Realini is pre-deceased by her husband the late John Realini. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law John and Diana; son Frank; daughter and son-in-law Michele and Gregory Johnson; she had 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held at the Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington, followed by mass in Our lady Queen of Peace Church.
Paula S. Fodera
RUTHERFORD – Paula S. Fodera of Rutherford passed away August 4, 2007. She was 50 years of age. Ms. Fodera was born in Brooklyn, NY.
Ms. Fodera worked as an Order Picker at Wacoal America in Lyndhurst. She was also a member of the Rutherford Bible Chapel.
She is survived by her mother Rose Scullion; father Vincent Fodera; sister and brother-in-law Lori and Jerry Allerdings; and nephew Timothy and nieces Melanie and Noelle.
A funeral was held at Collins-Calhoun Funeral home. Interment will be private cremation.
Marie Kiernan
North Arlington - Marie Kiernan (nee Bartolazzi) passed away August 5, 2007 at the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville. She was 91 years of age. Mrs. Kiernan was born in Newark and lived in North Arlington for the past 60 years.
She is pre-deceased by her husband the late George C. Kiernan and son, the late John Peter Kiernan. She is survived by 2 sons and daughter-in-laws, Kevin and Susan,and Matthew and Jackie, grandmother of John, Mark, Michelle, Jacob, Zachary, and Nina; sister of Adeline Manley and Anna McCartin.
A funeral was held on Aug.9 at the Parow Funeral Home, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
David George Scannell
LYNDHURST – David George Scannell passed away August 3,2007 in New Hampshire. He was 87 years of age. Mr. Scannell lived in Weehawken and Philadelphia before moving to Lyndhurst for 51 years.
He was employed by Prince Range as a Marketing Manager in Fairfield for 10 years.
Mr. Scannell is survived by wife Jean; 6 children, Patricia and her husband Kenneth Brunini, David and wife Susan Magrini, Richard and wife Darlene, Regina and husband Ralph O’Donnell, Donna and husband Derek Love and Marie Scannell. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Charlotte Corcoran and Eleanor Muelheisen, and 5 granchildren; Samantha, Jessica, Heather, Ashley and Claire.
A funeral was held Aug. 8 at Ippolito-Stellat0 Funeral Homefollowedby massat Sacred Heart Church in Lindhurst. Interment was at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.

Rev. F. Scott Peterson
Rev. F. Scott Peterson passed away August 4,2007 at the Hackensack University Medical Center. He was 44 years of age. Rev. Peterson lived in Fairfield for the past 7 years after moving from Princeton.
He was a minister at the Fairfield Reformed Church. Rev. Peterson was a graduate of Tottenville High School Hope College and Western Theological Seminary. He was the minister at Lawyersville & Sharon Reformed Churches in Upstate New York from 1991-1994,then Griggstown Reformed Church in Princeton from 1994-2000.
Rev. Peterson is survived by wife Deborah; father Franklin Peterson; mother Beverly Peterson;2 daughters Emily and Sarah; brother and sister-in-law Eric and Anne Peterson; grandmother Mary Bungay; and mother-in-law Jean M. Moermond.
A funeral was held Aug. 7 Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Fairfield, followed by service at Fairfield Reformed Church and interment at Midland City Cemetery in Midland, Michigan.

Ann Wallace
North Arlington - Ann Wallace passed away August 4,2007 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. She was 89 years of age. Ms. Wallce was born in Browndale, Pa., she lived in North Arlington for over 60 years.
She was empoyed by ITT in Clifton as an assembler for 34 years before retiring in 1980.
She is pre-deceased by parents, John and Ann Wallace. She is survived by brothers William,Francis and his wife Joyce,the late Michael and Joseph Wallace and Eva Pidich; nephews George and his wife Ann, Kenneth and his wife Barbara,Thomas and his wife Patricia, Anneve Pidich, William, Susan, Gary, John, and Robert Wallace and great-aunt to 6.
A funeral was held Aug. 8 at Parow Funeral Home followedby mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, then entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.
Edward J. Zieminski
Harrison - Edward J. Zieminski passed away August 5, 2007. He was 90 years of age, and resided in Harrison.
Edward was born in Newark and enlisted at age 23 in the US Army, he served until 1945. He was in eight campaigns fought in three invasions, Arzew, North Afirca, Gela, Sicily and Omaha Beach in Normandy, France. He fought in the Battle of the Bugle and was awarded the Combat infantry badge. Edward was awarded a Purple Heart medal with two bronze stars and the "V" for valor.
He is survived by step-sister, Helen Repasky; nieces Barbara Bednarski, Eileen Bianchi and Michlle Cervik; nephews Franks and Michael Repasky and Richard Dowd.
Edward is pre-deceased by 5 sisters; Stella, Sophie, Laura, Dorothy, and Joanne, and two nephews, John Down and John Bianchi.
A funeral was held Aug. 8 at the Mulligan Funeral Home in Harrison followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Grace Mc Namara
Lyndhurst – Grace McNamara passed away August 8, 2007 in her daughter’s home in Watchung. She was 87 years of age. Mrs. McNamara was born and raised in Hoboken and lived in Lyndhurst for over 40 years before moving to Lake Huntington, NY 17 years ago.
She has worked as a legal secretary for Charles Corn, Attorney at Law, in Hoboken for over 15 years before retiring in 1982.
Mrs. McNamara is pre-deceased by her husband the late James A. McNamara. She is survived by son James P. and his companion Ruth Vandenberg, daughters Anne and her husband Michael DeParto,and Lorraine and her husband Joseph Rodgers, sister to C. Eugene Doyle, and thelate Dorothy Buddenhagen and Rita Rasmussen. Grandmother to Christian and Amanda Grace DeParto and Linnet Rodgers.
A funeral was held at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial in Berkeley Heights, followed by a mass in St.Mary’s Stony Hill Church in Watchung. Interment at the Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.
