Eulalia C. DaNave

Lyndhurst Eulalia C. DaNave (nee Cardoso) passed away July 10, 2007. She was 78 years of age. Mrs. DaNave was born in Portugal, and lived in Lyndhurst before moving to North Arlington 15 years ago.

She was an assembly worker for 15 years, working for RCA in Harrison before retiring in 1987.

She is survived by her husband Armando, by her daughter Emily Figueiredo and her husband Phil, and by her granddaughters Nicole and Alexis Figueiredo.

A funeral Mass was held July 14 at Queen of Peace R. C. Church in North Arlington, followed by entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst.

 

 

Elizabeth Kwiecien

RutherfordElizabeth Kwiecien (nee Rozek) passed away July 12, 2007. She was 83 years of age. Mrs. Kwiecien was born in Holyoke, MA, and lived in Rutherford.

She was a grid department operator at RCA in Harrison before retiring. She was also a member of St. Mary R. C. Church, the Golden Agers, and the American Red Cross Rutherford Chapter.

Mrs. Kwiecien was predeceased by her husband Walter, by her brother Frank and her sister Esther.

She is survived by her daughter Judith Spinato and her husband Robert, by her daughter Janet Crandall and her husband Donald, by her son Michael and his wife Christine, by her brothers Joseph and Edward Rozek, by her sister Cecilia Podsiad, by her grandchildren Nicholas, Stephanie, Matthew and Samantha, and by her dear friend, Lily Fulton.

A funeral Mass was held July 16 at St. Mary R. C. Church in Rutherford, followed by a private cremation. Arrangements were made by Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford.

Donations in Mrs. Kwiecien’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1942; or to the American Red Cross Rutherford Chapter, 176 Park Ave., Rutherford, NJ 07070.

 

 

LaVerne Curcio

LaVerne Curcio (nee Edwards) passed away July 14, 2007. She was 81 years of age. Mrs. Curcio was born in Colbertson, NE. She resided in Lyndhurst before moving to Clifton where she made her home for 10 years.

Mrs. Curcio was employed as a packer for B. Altman in Rutherford for 20 years. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Circle 5, Lyndhurst Juvenile Conference Committee, Republican County Committee and Lyndhurst UNICO.

She was predeceased by her husband Peter Curcio and sister Lucy Harris. She is survived by her daughters Carmela Somma, Charlene Richards, Lucy Curcio, sister Goldie Paolazzi, brothers Joseph Edwards, Lee Edwards, grandchildren Jeff, Torre, Shawn, Jason and Lindsay, great-grandchildren Alyssa, Joshua and Scarlett and brother-in-law Charles Curcio.

Family and friends were received July 17 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral was offered July 18 at the funeral home, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

Donations may be made in Mrs. Curcio’s memory to the Lyndhurst United Methodist Church Trustees Fund, 250 Stuyvesant Ave., Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.

 

 

 

Miryam T. Boyle

Rutherford – Miryam T. Boyle (nee Fernandez) of Rutherford passed away July 13, 2007. She was 68 years of age. She was born in Colombia.

She was predeceased by her husband John Boyle and sister Amelia Mordecai. Mrs. Boyle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jack and Laurie Boyle, grandchildren Courtney, Brianne and John, niece Susana Milachouski and son Sean, brother and friend Ivan Fernandez and sons Andres and Manuel. She is also survived her brothers Raul, Enrique, Hector and Guido Fernandez and sisters Magaly Valderrama and Matilde Fernandez.

Family and friends were received July 16 at Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford. A funeral was held July 17, followed by a Mass in St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Rutherford. Cremation was private.

 

 

Albert E. Nardone

Albert E. Nardone passed away July 16, 2007 at the Daughters of Miriam Center in Clifton. He was 93 years of age. Mr. Nardone was born in Newark and resided there before moving to Clifton where he made his home for 43 years.

He was employed at PSE&G for 37 years and retired in 1976. Mr. Nardone was a Charter Member of the Claremont Club.

He was predeceased by his wife Catherine Nardone (nee Scarponi). Mr. Nardone is survived by his son Thomas and his fiance’ JoAnn Corsale and son and daughter-in-law Albert and Carolyn.

Family and friends were received July 18 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. A funeral Mass was offered July 19 in Sacred Heart R. C. Church in Lyndhurst, followed by interment in Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Donations may be made in Mr. Nardone’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.

 

 

 

Alexander V. Zablocki

North ArlingtonAlexander V. Zablocki of North Arlington passed away July 17, 2007 in his home. He was 91 years of age. Mr. Zablocki was born in Jersey City and lived there before moving to Lyndhurst and most recently North Arlington.

He was employed at roadway Trucking in Hoboken and Seaboard Terminal in Jersey City before working as a dispatcher for Safeway Truck Lines in Kearny. He retired in 1981. Mr. Zablocki served as sergeant and message chief for the 29th and 175th Infantry Division of the United States Army during World War II. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and a bronze medal. Mr. Zablocki was a member of St. Michael’s Leisure Senior Citizens, the Happy Citizens of North Arlington and the Nutrition Center.

Mr. Zablocki is survived by his wife Lucy Zablocki (nee Ciski), daughters Michele Lazar and Sandra Zablocki and grandson Aaron Lazar.

A funeral service was held July 20 at Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington, followed by a Mass in St. Michael’s Church in Lyndhurst. Entombment was held in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington.

Donations may be made in Mr. Zablocki’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer St., Hackensack, NJ 07601.

 

 

 

 

 

Michael Yaschak

Michael Yaschak passed away July 15, 2007 in Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains. He was 84 years of age. Mr. Yaschak was born in Jersey City and resided there and in White Haven PA before moving to Butler.

He was employed as a truck driver for Joan’s Motor Company in Jersey City for over 20 years and retired in 1980.

Mr. Yaschak was predeceased by his sister Anna Bunda and brothers Steven and William. He is survived by his nephew and wife Donald and MaryAnn Bunda, nephew Stephen Myron Bunda, grand-niece and husband Victoria and Bill Jaretsky and grand-nephew Tony Bunda.

Family and friends were received July 18 at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. A Mass was offered in St. Peter and Paul Church in Jersey City, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

 

 

 

Amy Divine

Lyndhurst Amy Divine (nee Dieckow) passed away July 19, 2007. She was 98 years of age. Mrs. Divine was born and raised in New York City, and lived in Lyndhurst since 1932. She worked for the area’s Commercial Leader Newspaper as a reporter, editor and feature writer starting in 1952. She retired in 1992.

She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin Divine Jr., by her son Donnie and by her grandson Michael Llewellyn.

She is survived by her daughter Joy Divine of New York City.

A funeral service was held July 23 at Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst, followed by interment in Cresthaven Memorial Park in Clifton.
