Edwin "C.J." Kartz

Edwin "C.J." Kartz of St. Pete Beach, FL passed away June 25 in Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. He was 93 years of age. Mr. Kartz was born in East Rutherford and resided in Allendale before moving to St. Pete Beach.

He was employed as a commercial artist for 31 years and owned and operated a studio in New York City. Mr. Kartz was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Yukon Territory.

He is survived by his son Gordon Kartz and daughter Melanie Cummins, grandchildren Desiree and Kyla Lawrence and step-grandchildren Owen, Robin and Chelsea Cummins.

Family and friends were received June 27 at Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford. A graveside service was offered June 29 at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

 

Maria Di Pace

Maria Di Pace (nee Pagliuca) passed away July 2 in the Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville. She was 89 years of age. Born in Italy, she resided in North Arlington before moving to Belleville five years ago.

Mrs. Di Pace was employed by Prudential Insurance Company in Newark for 10 years before retiring 27 years ago.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Di Pace. She is survived by her cherished friends Bombina and Mario Gencarelli of Belleville and their family.

A funeral service was held July 5 at the Parow Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was offered in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

 

 

Robert C. Monaco

Robert C. Monaco, of Blakeslee, PA, passed away July 3, 2007. He was 45 years of age. Mr. Monaco was born, raised, and lived most of his life in Lyndhurst before moving to Blakeslee six years ago.

He was an auto mechanic at his father’s business, Plaid Motors Inc. of Lyndhurst before becoming the night manager for Kinsley ShopRite in Brodheadsville, PA. He was a member of the Lyndhurst Volunteer Fire Department and an honorary member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert, PA.

Mr. Monaco was predeceased by his brother Charles. He is survived by his parents John and Hilda, his fiance Debra Hayden of Blakeslee, brother Frank of Kearny, brother John Jr. and his wife Theresa of Lodi and sister Robyn Piserchia of Lyndhurst. He is also survived by his nephews Frank Monaco and John Monaco III, nieces Ilissa Benjamin and Raychel Piserchia, great-nephew Leonardo, great-nieces Kaitlynn and Kira and stepchildren Jaime and Jesse.

A funeral Mass was held July 9 in Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst, followed by interment Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst.

 

 

Annette M. Carrao

North Arlington – Annette M. Carrao (nee Cirone) passed away July 4, 2007. She was 64 years of age. Mrs. Corrao was born in Jersey City and raised in Lyndhurst. She moved to North Arlington in 1978.

She was employed as an office manager for Leo Ruttenberg Associates for 18 years and later for Sharples Construction in Kearny for six years.

She is survived by her husband Ralph, of North Arlington, daughter Michele Tarantino and her husband John of Bayville, daughter Denise Haynes and her husband Richard, of Waldwick, grandchildren Danielle and Ryan Haynes and brothers Bill Cirone of Lakewood and Tony Cirone of San Jose, CA.

A funeral Mass was held July 7 in Sacred Heart Church, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Nazare Memorial Home in Lyndhurst.

 

 

Dominick Di Pasquale

Lyndhurst – Dominick Di Pasquale passed away July 1, 2007. He was 94 years of age. Mr. Di Pasquale was born and raised in New York City. He moved to Lyndhurst in 1957.

Mr. Di Pasquale served in the Army from 1932 to 1935, then worked as a wire roller for Driver Harris Steel Co. in Harrison for 40 years, retiring in 1977.

He was predeceased by his wife Josephine, son Nicholas and granddaughter Sharon.

His is survived by his son Frank and his wife Joann of Montville, son Thomas of Las Vegas, NV, daughter-in-law Roslyn Di Pasquale of Lyndhurst, sisters Constance Di Pasquale and Irene Ragazzo, brother John Di Pasquale, and by many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his granddaughters Nicole Portella, Andrea Roman and Michele Di Pasquale, grandsons Dominick, Frank Jr. and David Di Pasquale and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held July 6 at Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Nazare Memorial Home.

 

 

Rose M. Moskal

Lyndhurst – Rose M. Moskal (nee Pomersky) passed away July 3, 2007. She was 94 years of age. Mrs. Moskal was born in Beaverdale, PA, and lived in Newark before moving to Lyndhurst 55 years ago.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rosary Society and the Leisure Club of St. Michael’s Church, Lyndhurst Senior Citizens and a past president of the St. Michael’s PTA.

She was predeceased by her husband Chester.

She is survived by her son John and his wife Patricia of Kaneohe, HI, son Chester of Belleville, grandson Michael, granddaughter Lori and her husband Jim Forbes, brother Stanley Pomersky and sister Mary Corris.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Michael’s R. C. Church in Lyndhurst, followed by entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst.
