A detective from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office responded to take samples, which were sent to the New Jersey State Police Lab. In February police were informed the blood yielded a match on the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) for Juan F. Marillo of Newark. The judge issued the warrants for Marillo’s arrest and officers contacted Marillo’s family and friends in a search for him. Bail was set at $7,500 with no 10 percent option for the burglary and theft and $500 ROR for the criminal mischief warrant. Police asked Barros to step out of the vehicle and he attempted to discard two clear glass vials of suspected Ketamine. Police also found a syringe in the front of his jeans.
