Harvey H. Robinson
Harvey H. Robinson of Kearny passed away April 12. He was 70 years old. Mr. Robinson was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and lived in East Newark before moving to Kearny 37 years ago.
He served in the Army from 1955-1957 and owned Harvey’s Refrigeration in Kearny for many years.
Mr. Robinson is survived by wife Marlene (nee Foertsch) and children Steve Robinson and Karen Hinchey nad her husband, Dave. He is also survived by siblings Joseph Robinson and Leila Tanaka and grandchildren David, Christine, Stacy and Jessica-Leila.
On April 15, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Wilfred Armitage and Wiggins. The service was followed by interment in Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
Carmela DeFranco
NORTH ARLINGTON-Carmela "Millie" DeFranco (nee Maioran) of North Arlington passed away Tuesday, April 15. She was 90 years old. Mrs. DeFranco was born in Newark, raised in the Silver Lake section of Belleville and lived in the Ironbound section of Newark for 25 years before moving to North Arlington 35 years ago.
She was employed by the Newark Board of Education as a food service worker for 25 years before retiring 30 years ago.
Mrs. DeFranco is predeceased by husband James. She is survived by son Joseph J. and his wife, Margaret. She is also survived by granddaughters Angela and Christine.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington.
Virginia Scott
RUTHERFORD-Virginia Scott (nee Rodgers) of Rutherford passed away Tuesday, April 15. Mrs. Scott was born in Jersey City.
She was a clerk at Berkeley College for 16 years, retiring last February. She was a member of St. Mary R.C. Church and taught CCD for 15 years.
Mrs. Scott is predeceased by husband Peter Scott and son Peter Scott. She is survived by daughter Margaret (Peggy) Schultz and her husband, Stanley. She is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer, Robert and Joseph.
On April 19, relatives and friends attended the funeral mass from St. Mary R.C. Church. The service was followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Arrangements were made by Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home.
Guido F. Matraxia
Guido F. "Guy" or "Wee-Wee" Matraxia of Belleville, passed away Tuesday, April 14. He was 90 years old. Mr. Matraxia was born and raised in Jersey City and was a resident of Belleville since 1952.
He was the owner of the Franklin Casino in Belleville from 1947, which became Galaxy Catering in 1960. He then sold it in 1975. He also was an Industrial Real Estate broker for Archie Schwartz in East Orange for several years. He played and coached semi-pro football and basketball and was also the catcher and MVP on the Mt. Carmel Softball team in Jersey City that played in the 1952 World Championship.
Mr. Matraxia is predeceased by wife Rose (nee Feltz) Matraxia. He is survived by children, JoAnn and her husband, Dr. Alexander Cacciarelli, of Thousand Oaks, CA and Vincent F. "Tanky" Matraxia of Lyndhurst and granchildren Anthony, Guy, and Alexander Cacciarelli, Danielle Matraxia and Natalie Campbell. He is also survived by great-grandsons Jack, Joey and Rogie Cacciarelli.
On April 19, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Nazare Memorial Home then to the funeral mass from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, both in Lyndhurst. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
Immaculate Pederson
Immaculate Pederson (nee Cataldi) of Wood-Ridge passed away Wednesday, April 16. She was 95 years old. Mrs. Pederson was born in Hackensack.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pederson is predeceased by husband Wilfred Pederson, sisters Rose DeSantis, Mary Amoruso and Philomena Lafalce and brothers Joseph Cataldi, John Cataldi and Matthew Cataldi. She is survived by son Kenneth Link, daughter Joan McKenna and sister Theresa Ribitzki. She is also survived by five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
On April 18, relatives and friends attended the funeral mass from Assumption Church in Wood-Ridge. The service was followed by interment in George Washington Memorial Park.

Juliette Campana
LYNDHURST-Juliette "Julie" Campana (nee Romeo) of Lyndhurst passed away Wednesday, April 16. She was 73 years old. Mrs. Campana was born in and a life long resident of Lyndhurst.
She was a credit manager for Leslie & Company in Lyndhurst for 34 years. She also worked for the Lyndhurst Building Dept. for four years and then the Tax Office for 10 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Seniors of Lyndhurst.
Mrs. Campana is survived by husband Frank Campana of Lyndhurst, sister Yolanda Roper of Butler, and nieces and nephew Marilyn Roper, Valerie Pena and Steven Roper.
On April 19, relatives and friends attended the funeral service from Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. in Lyndhurst. The service was followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Lydia Mary French
Lydia Mary French of Seneca, S.C. passed away on March 4. She was 95 years old. Mrs. French was born in Cordoba Argentina and lived in Lyndhurst.
She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Edith Mary Clist Jenkins. She was a retired administrative assistant with Union Carbide in New York and was a retired employee of Bromilow’s Chocolates. She was very religious. Mrs. French was also an accomplished concert pianist and a cook. She spent many hours knitting for various mission organizations.
Mrs. French is survived by daughters Doreen M. Vroeginday of Milford, DE and Lydia Stone of Clemson, S.C. She is also survived by five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on April 25 at 10 a.m. at the George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus.
