Three Gael stars honored
Helped basketball team gain league notoriety
Martina Ellerbe of St. Mary High School was selected unanimously First Team All BCSL National League and for the second year, she was named Second Team All Bergen County. Ellerbe is drawing attention from quite a few Division 1 schools. She is also a member of the St. Mary track team and plays AAU basketball with the Gachos in New York City.
St. Mary standout Shonice Hawkins was selected unanimously First Team All BCSL National League. She was also recognized by the Star Ledger as a top sophomore and the Bergen Record currently named her one of the top five most underrated players in the county. Shonice is drawing a tremendous amount of attention from Division I programs. She is currently playing AAU basketball with the New Jersey Flames.
Afreyea Tolbert, also joined her teammates in receiving accolades on the First Team All League, First Team All Bergen County, First Team All North Jersey, First Team All County (Star Ledger), First Team All Junior Class for the state and Second Team All State Non-Public. Tolbert has a number of Division 1 programs interested in her including the University of Miami, Hofstra University and George Washington University. She is also a member of the St. Mary track team and play AAU ball with the Gachos in New York City.
