William L. Norville
William L. Norville 96 of Oakton VA, passed away March 15. He was 96 years old. Mr. Norville was born in Scranton, PA and lived in Rutherford before moving to Oakton.
He was a machinist for Westinghouse in Jersey City for many years.
Mr. Norville is predeceased by wife Madeline. He is survived by son William P. and his wife, Margaret and siblings George and Alice. He is also survived by grandsons Matthew and Scott.
On March 19, relatives and friends attended the funeral service from Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home in Rutherford. The service was followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
Dorothy Reece
NORTH ARLINGTON-Dorothy Reece (nee McDonald) of North Arlington passed away Sunday, March 23. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Reece was born in England and lived in Canada before moving to North Arlington in 1966.
She worked in the cafeteria at North Arlington High School for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Reece is predeceased by husband Bertram S. and sister Lillian Hishon. She is survived by son Ian and his wife, Maryann and grandchildren Shannon and Ashley. She is also survived by sister Lucy Czvornyek.

Theresa Pegnato
LYNDHURST-Theresa Pegnato (nee Marra) of Lyndhurst passed away on Sunday March 23. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Pegnato was born and raised the "Silver Lake" section of Newark, lived in Lyndhurst for 19 years and Old Bridge for 20 years, then moved back to Lyndhurst.
She was an owner of Caesar’s Palace Hair Salon, Old Bridge for 15 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member The Lyndhurst Italian American Club, the Lyndhurst Woman’s Club, Mt. Carmel’s Rosary Society and Seniors Club, all of Lyndhurst. She also volunteered at Boy’s Town in Kearny.
Mrs. Pegnato is predeceased husband Joseph Pegnato, Sr. She is survived by children Joseph Pegnato, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of VA, Beverly Pegnato of Nutley, William Pegnato and his wife, Maryella of CA and Arthur Pegnato of FL. She is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Lina Hill, Monica Teresa, Jonathan Joseph, Karen Anne, Elisabeth Marra, Alexandria Maresa and Nicolas William Peganato, great-grandsons Michael David and Matthew William Hill and sister Anne Spagnolia.
On March 26, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, then the funeral mass from Our Lady Mount Carmel, both in Lyndhurst. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.

Irene E. Jacobsen
LYNDHURST-Irene E. Jacobsen (nee Scheel) of Lyndhurst passed away Saturday, March 22. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Jacobsen was born in Newark and has been a resident of Lyndhurst for many years.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jacobsen is predeceased by husband Floyd H. Jacobsen. She is survived by daughter Arlene Jacobsen of Lyndhurst.
On March 26, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. in Lyndhurst. The service was followed by interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.
Raymond J. Misiewicz
Raymond J. Misiewicz of Manchester passed away Sunday, March 23. He was 93 years old. Mr. Misiewicz was born in Barren Island N.Y. and lived in North Arlington before retiring to Manchester.
He worked as a manager of the Shop Rite Stores on both Beech Street and Passaic Avenue in Kearny during the 50s, 60s and 70s before retiring. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II where he survived the landings of Iwo Jima and Okinowa on the LST-795.
Mr. Misiewicz is predeceased by wife Mae (nee Turri). He is survived by wife Margaret Cavanaugh (nee Gudinas), son Raymond and his wife, Barbara, of NY and stepchildren John Cavanaugh and Nancy Marshall. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
On March 27, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Parow Funeral Home and then the funeral mass from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, both in North Arlington. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, also in North Arlington.
Donations in his memory are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Virginia Futrell
NORTH ARLINGTON-Virginia Futrell of North Arlington passed away Saturday, March 22. She was 89 years old. Ms. Futrell was born in Norfolk VA and moved to North Arlington 56 years ago.
She retired as a supervisor of the cashiers at the Statler Hilton Hotel in New York City and was later employed by Danson Jewelers in Hasbrouck Heights.
Ms. Futrell is predeceased by parents Al and Earnie (Stewart) Marder, brother James Futrell, brother-in-law Bob Doran and dog Reggie. She is survived by sister Marilyn Doran, nephew Bob and Danny and dog Wheaton.
On March 26, relatives and friends attended the funeral from S. W. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Nutley, then to the funeral mass from Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington. A private cremation was held.
Rocco J. Calabro
NORTH ARLINGTON-Rocco J. Calabro of North Arlington passed away Saturday, March 22. He was 91 years old. Mr. Calabro was born in Harrison and lived in North Arlington for the past 56 years.
He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Harrison for over 30 years before retiring in 1976. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Harrison. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council #3428 and an usher at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington.
Mr. Calabro is predeceased by sister Jessie Ingenito. He is survived by wife Catherine M. (nee Moore), son John R. and his wife, Judy and grandchildren Janine Calabro and her husband, Peter Herman, Megan Calabro-Fitch and her husband, Andrew, Michael Calabro and his wife, Kim, Joseph, John, Laura, Elizabeth and Patrick Calabro. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Gabriella and David and siblings Anthony, Matthew, Peter, Frank, Stanley and Rose Calabro.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Parow Funeral Home and then the funeral mass from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, both in North Arlington. The services were followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, also in North Arlington.

Lawrence C. Mack
NORTH ARLINGTON-Lawrence C. Mack of North Arlington passed away Tuesday, March 25. He was 87 years old. Mr. Mack was born in Elizabeth and lived in Newark before moving to North Arlington 20 years ago.
He worked as a machinist for the Curtiss-Wright Company in Wood-Ridge for 38 years before retiring 30 years ago. He served in the United States Marines during World War II.
Mr. Mack is predeceased by wife Marjorie (nee Wilson), daughter Donna Bolan and sister Albie Mack. He is survived by children Maureen Mack, Gary Mack, Patricia Strobel and Michael Mack and grandchildren Jackie and Coleen Bolan, Rebecca and Jamie Mack, Wayne and Kyle Strobel, Brianna Horvath and Allison Mack. He is also survived by great-granddaughter Abiageal, sister Edna Ryan and other siblings in Pennsylvania.
On March 29, relatives and friends attended the funeral from Parow Funeral Home in North Arlington. The service was followed by interment in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, also in North Arlington.

Robert C. Groeschke
RUTHERFORD-Robert C. Groeschke of Rutherford passed away Wednesday, March 26. He was 87 years old. Mr. Groeschke was born in Jersey City.
He worked for the Ford Motor Company in Newark for 29 years before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.
Mr. Groeschke is predeceased by parents Christopher and Henrietta Groeschke and brother Arthur Groeschke. He is survived by wife Margaret. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Virginia A. Pardee
Virginia A. Pardee of Great Barrington, MA, passed away March 24. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Pardee was born in Union City and lived in Rutherford.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pardee is predeceased by husband Warrin. She is survived by children Warrin Pardee and Arleen Worley. She is also survived by grandchildren Kimberly and Bobby Worley and Laura Pardee.

Clara L. Ott
EAST RUTHERFORD-Clara L. "Claire" Ott (nee Paul) passed away March 21. She was a lifelong resident of East Rutherford.
Mrs. Ott was a senior secretary for New Jersey Bank in Passaic, retiring in 1981. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in East Rutherford and a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Francis of Assisi #4524 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Ott is predeceased by husband Arthur B. Ott, Sr., son Arthur B. Ott, Jr. and brother Tony Paul. She is survived by daughter-in-law Janice of Ho-Ho-Kus and siblings Anna Paul and Anthony Paul.

John R. Curtin
RUTHERFORD-John R. Curtin of Rutherford passed away Friday, March 28. He was 82 years old. Mr. Curtin was born in New York City.
He worked as a mechanical engineer for Viking Taxi Meter company in East Rutherford before retiring. He was a parishoner and usher of St. Mary R.C. Church of Rutherford as well as a member of the Rutherford Old Guard and Rutherford Democratic Club.
Mr. Curtin is predeceased by son Robert M. Curtin. He is survived by wife Margaret E. (nee) O'Shaughnessy, children Maureen McCann, Gerardine Lamendola and her husband, Mark, siblings Catherine Godfrey and James Curtin and sister-in-law Mary Gresser. He is also survived by grandchildren Tara and Lauren McCann, Melissa and Michael Lamendola and Lyndsay Curtin, great-grandchildren Bradley Norton and Emma Spadora and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Anna P. David
NORTH ARLINGTON-Anna P. David (nee Tumulus) of North Arlington passed away Wednesday, March 26. She was 89 years old. Mrs. David was born in Kearny and lived in North Arlington since 1955.
She worked as a tube assembler for R. C. A. in Harrison for many years before retiring.
Mrs. David is predeceased by husband Henry David. She is survived by brother Frank Tumulus and sister Mary Frixel.

Ethel Scarpa
NORTH ARLINGTON-Ethel Scarpa (nee Gyongyosy) of North Arlington passed away Thursday, March 27. She was 91 years old. Mrs. Scarpa was born Clairiton, PA and has been a resident of North Arlington for 75 years.
She worked as a seamstress in the garment industry for 25 years. She was a member of the Senior Harmony Club of North Arlington.
Mrs. Scarpa is predeceased by husband Frank Scarpa and sister-in-law Antoinette Bova. She is survived by daughter Louise Paolazzi and her husband, Rocco, of Lyndhurst and grandchildren Rocco Jr., Paul, Kristie and Jeffrey Paolazzi. She is also survived by sister-in-law Catherine DeMaio and five great-grandchildren.
